At Aspire Aesthetics in Hendersonville, TN, we believe that beautiful skin is within reach. Perfecting your skin requires a combination of the right products and treatments. If you’re unsure which treatment to start with, we want to introduce you to one of our incredibly effective vampire treatments, the Vampire Facial.
The Vampire Facial
The Vampire Facial is a minimally invasive skincare treatment that combines the benefits of microneedling with PRP therapy. It’s referred to as a “vampire” treatment because it uses your own blood to heal the skin and address different skin care concerns.
Whether you’re tired of basic facials and want to try an innovative treatment that guarantees results or you’ve never experienced a facial before, we want to introduce you to our Vampire Facial, a treatment that will change your skin for the better.
Understanding the Vampire Treatments: The Facial vs. the Facelift
Vampire treatments are aesthetic treatments that use platelet-rich plasma to address different cosmetic concerns. Many people use the words Vampire Facial and Vampire Facelift interchangeably; however, they are very different treatments. The only similarity between the two is that they use PRP during the treatment process.
The Facelift
The Vampire Facelift uses a combination of platelet-rich plasma injections and dermal fillers to treat the signs of aging in different ways. It’s a minimally invasive, non-surgical alternative to a facelift, delivers immediate results thanks to the hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers, and the results can last a year or longer.
Results will continue to develop over time due to the PRP injections into different areas of the face that will help renew the skin and promote increased collagen production.
The Facial
The Vampire Facial uses a combination of microneedling techniques and topical PRP to improve the complexion. It’s minimally invasive, requires very little downtime, and delivers results within the months following treatment as the body responds to the needling techniques and PRP application.
The good news is that if you’re interested in both of these vampire treatments, you can combine them. During your consultation, be sure to let us know if you’re interested in both treatments so that we can give you details about each and schedule them accordingly.
How It Works
When you arrive for your appointment, we will begin the treatment process with a blood draw. The blood draw allows us to obtain a sample of your blood that we can put in the centrifuge, the device which will rapidly spin the blood sample to separate the platelet-rich plasma so that we can use it during the facial.
We’ll then use an effective cleanser to remove makeup, buildup, and oil from your skin’s surface. Then, we will apply a topical numbing cream to your skin. It takes approximately 30 minutes for the solution to effectively numb the skin. Once your skin is numb, we can begin the microneedling treatment.
Microneedling
We will use a microneedling device similar to a large marker, containing a cartridge filled with thin, medical grade needles. We can adjust the device’s speed and needle depth during the treatment. Different areas of the face can tolerate longer needles, while more sensitive areas of the face require shorter needles. We may apply a hyaluronic acid-based serum to your skin to help the device effortlessly glide across your skin’s surface.
The automated device will repetitively insert the needles into your skin, creating thousands of microchannels. We may perform one to two passes with the device based on your ultimate skincare needs and goals. The device will create tiny channels which increase the rate at which your skin can absorb the serums we use.
Applying the Topical PRP Serum
We will apply a topical PRP serum to your skin during or after the microneedling process. The platelet-rich plasma will absorb into your skin, and its growth factors will promote cellular turnover and increase collagen production. You won’t see immediate results from using PRP, but they will appear in the month following your treatment.
What It Treats
The Vampire Facial can treat some of the most common problematic skin conditions. Those with sun-damaged skin or hyperpigmentation resulting from hormones, environmental factors, or lifestyle factors can achieve a more even skin tone after undergoing this treatment. It can also improve the appearance of facial scars, including chicken pox marks or acne scars. It’s also an excellent treatment to smooth lines and wrinkles in different areas of the face.
What Kind of Results To Expect
After your treatment, you’ll notice immediate results due to the instant contraction of the collagen in your skin. However, you won’t see the most dramatic results until the first few weeks post-treatment. The best results are most visible within the first three to six months. Your results can last up to 18 months, and you can continue to schedule maintenance treatments to promote increased collagen production and maintain your treatment results long-term.
Post-Treatment Care
After your treatment, your face will look slightly flushed and may feel tight, which is completely normal, and while your skin may be more sensitive for the first few days, you won’t have to plan around significant downtime.
You may notice some peeling post-treatment but avoid picking at the skin or trying to remove it manually. Let it naturally resolve itself during cleansing. It’s important that you keep your skin moisturized post-treatment. You can apply makeup if needed within the first two days.
Who Is a Candidate?
The Vampire Facial is the perfect solution for those who want to increase collagen production and improve their skin without invasive treatments. It’s also a good option for patients who aren’t ready to undergo treatments with cosmetic injectables to address the signs of aging. However, those who want to use cosmetic injectables in conjunction with this treatment can easily do so.
